John Paul “JP” Gonzales credits his father for his die-hard work ethic, saying he taught him to give 110% and go the extra mile in everything he does. That all-out, never-give-up attitude shined in Season 2 when JP bested some of the toughest cowboys in the country to place second. Off the working ranch, JP’s roping and ranch rodeo skills have earned him countless wins in the arena. And his rich voice and musicianship have ushered him into the spotlight as a Country singer!
Most importantly, his give-it-his-all commitment extends to his family, his wife, and his kids, who will always be his priority.
JP gained a solid and dedicated fan base in Season 2, and when this hard-working, amiable cowboy just missed taking home the herd, his Pearsall, Texas community raised enough money to buy JP a few dozen beef cows to help him jump-start his ranching operation. He continues to grow his cattle business, which now includes horse training. JP is focusing on bringing home the big prize in this All-Star season, not only for himself and his family but also to honor the friends, family, and all those in the Pearsall area who have had his back throughout the years.
