A city kid yearning for country life, Jamon Turner’s visit to his uncle’s cattle operation at a young age sparked his passion for a simpler way of living. A chance encounter in second grade with PRCA World Champion Bull Rider Charlie Sampson steered Jamon’s pipe dreams in the direction of attainable. Learning the bull riding and team roping world from a great such as Charlie showed him what a winner looks like, which sure paid off. Making his way up the rodeo circuit, Jamon became a professional bull rider, and throughout his career, his winnings totaled over $300,000. Trading in his rodeo hat for the honest work of a dayworker, the Louisiana native has lent his cowboy skills to ranches all over the country. A cowboy with a giving heart, Jamon also runs the non-profit Just Believe Youth, which gives kids from Louisiana’s inner cities a glimpse into the world where ranchers and cowboys rule.
