Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot

Blue Ridge sheriff Justin Wise’s simple plan to meet his ex-wife Elli and daughter Maddie at school to discuss Maddie’s college prospects is derailed when a suspicious traffic stop turns into a violent chase through the woods. Justin brings the suspect to the police station but is called away to the funeral of a local crime boss, where the town’s age-old Wade-McGrath feud begins to boil over. Just then Justin gets shocking news: the police station has been burned to the ground. Justin and his deputies, Maxx and RP, must get to the bottom of this deadly crime, all while trying to protect a key witness, and keep a lid on the town’s simmering violence.

Season 1 Episode 2: The Legend of Oak Miller

Justin and his team get word that three thrill-seeking strangers have staged a dangerous Western-style hold up on an old country road, catching an old man and his granddaughter in their sights. Justin fears that further violence is in store because the stickup’s victims are Oak Miller – a legendary bull rider with a reputation for vigilantism – and Oak’s granddaughter, Twig. Justin’s team must scramble to find where the would-be outlaws will strike next, hopefully before Oak’s quest for vengeance turns deadly.

Season 1 Episode 3: Heels and Faces

When a regional wrestling alliance rents out the local high school gymnasium, its meanspirited promoter, Earl, is found murdered under the ring. Justin and the team are called in to investigate and find themselves surrounded by the colorfully costumed cast of Southern Mountain Wrestling Alliance, where everyone seems to have a motive to kill. As darker secrets emerge from Earl’s past, Justin is forced to confront the fact that the killer may have more ties to the Blue Ridge community than anyone could have ever expected.

Season 1 Episode 4: Appalachian Waltz

A rare day off for Justin is ruined when a hard-living country band’s tour bus crashes on their way through town. Justin’s team investigates, and it becomes clear the crash is no accident: the brake lines have been cut. With too much downtime, the band’s bodyguard starts bullying his way through town, wreaking havoc, but – to Justin’s great frustration – remaining just inside the law. As the situation reaches a violent breaking point, Justin realizes he’ll have to make an unconventional choice to make things right. Meanwhile, the band’s presence creates one more situation that Justin is totally unprepared for: the romantic attention of the band’s beautiful violinist.

Season 1 Episode 5: Land Grab

A murder hits close to home when Barbara Banning, Maddie’s beloved horseback riding trainer, is strangled to death. When Justin and the deputies dig for clues, they discover that the acreage of Barbara’s horse ranch was eagerly sought after, and that just before her death Barbara made a shocking change to her will. Soon, a handful of shady suspects start emerging. The investigators start running into dead ends, and Justin is forced to call in a favor with an FBI agent…an FBI agent who happens to be Justin’s ex-girlfriend.

Season 1 Episode 6: Locked In

In the season finale, Justin faces down the most dangerous threat to his family yet. The team, along with FBI agent Beth Yates, is called to the outskirts of town to complete a federal eminent domain eviction. They break into the home to find only the homeowner’s sickly father alone in the house…and a threatening message spray painted on the wall. Then, Justin gets a phone call that rocks his world: the hot-blooded homeowner has taken hostages at the police station, including Elli, Maddie, and Jeremiah Wade’s son, Blade. With everything on the line, Justin realizes he’ll need to confront his deepest fears to save the ones he loves.
