The Alamo: Thirteen Days to Glory James Arness, Brian Keith, and Alec Baldwin star! Everyone’s favorite Marshal from Gunsmoke stars in this tense Western. Watch as he vows to fight to the end in this riveting tale of heroism, valor, and taking a stand for what you believe in – even when the odds are against you. In 1836, Jim Bowie, Davy Crockett, and Colonel William Travis lead the charge with 181 Texas patriots who are determined to defend the Alamo – even though they will be vastly outnumbered when the Mexican army arrives. The Texans hope to fend off the mighty forces of General Santa Anna, but this motley crew of fighters include pioneers and ranchers…not trained military men with experience fighting in the thick of battle. To make matters even worse, the Mexicans are highly trained, seasoned soldiers with more firepower than the small group of patriots. Complications ensue as the men start to quarrel over how to defend the Alamo. Despite this rough start, they are resourceful and prepare for the battle to come. Defending this abandoned mission against the Mexicans would be tough for any group, but if Colonel Travis can’t get reinforcements, the Texans will surely lose. Vowing to win or die, Bowie, Crockett and Colonel Travis count some minor successes as they skirmish with the enemy. Crockett regales the troops with stories of his exploits, and the men are excited when they destroy some Mexican artillery. Scouts come and go and dispatches for help are sent, which raise everyone’s hopes. Although things look grim, the men vow to hold down the fort or die trying. But if more troops don’t arrive in time, this much is true: General Santa Anna will crush the Alamo, no mercy will be shown, and the blood of these patriots will be spilled…. You may also like...
