Just as Christmas fundraising efforts to build a new orphanage kick into gear, Ben Cartwright is called out of town on business. In his absence, he hands the responsibility of garnering donations to his son, Hoss. The plans for the fundraiser are going well, especially when an old friend of the Cartwrights, Andy Walker, who is now a famous singer, returns to Virginia City and volunteers to perform a concert for charity. Unfortunately, wherever Andy goes, his uncle—and somewhat shady manager, Thaddeus Cole—tags along, always working a deal. Hoss is thrilled at the partnership. With Andy on the bill, they’re sure to make a lot of money for their cause. And when Thaddeus volunteers his smooth-talking sales skills to raise money, for a mere 10% commission, surely the cost of the orphanage will be soon covered. Oh, sweet, sensitive Hoss. How he always sees the good in people. Now Ben is back, and he sees right through Thaddeus’ unscrupulous scheme. But…how to stop him?
