Audie Murphy was the most decorated soldier of WWII, and his bravery and courage have never been forgotten. After returning from the war as a national hero, he eventually became a beloved actor. But the role that he really treasured was fatherhood!
Audie and his second wife, Pamela Archer, had two boys: Terrance “Terry” Murphy and James “Jimmy” Murphy. Born just two years apart, the boys were well-mannered and polite and loved spending time with their Dad for weekly lunches at the Studio commissary, as well as on-location visits to his film sets. Audie enjoyed spending time with them and was devoted to both of his sons. Audie’s own father abandoned his wife and children, so Audie made time with his sons a priority.
