An avid outdoorsman, Theodore Roosevelt is someone you’d expect to have many horses and dogs in his life. But during his years in the White House, it’s estimated that more than 40 critters crawled, walked, flew, and slithered through the hallowed halls, not to mention the Roosevelts’ Sagamore Hill estate on Long Island. Here’s a sampling of the Roosevelt family pets, including a few that caused quite a ruckus.
