4: Stone Cold (2005)

Stone Cold (2005)

The movie that started it all! In Stone Cold, we meet Chief of Police Jesse Stone for the first time. After being forced to resign from his job as a homicide detective in Los Angeles, Stone takes a law enforcement position in the seemingly peaceful town of Paradise, Massachusetts. It’s the perfect place to take stock of his life. Little does he know he’s about to tackle crime and corruption that rival any big city. Stone’s personal life might be a mess, but he knows two things: how to solve a case and how to make waves. Now, random murders are beginning to look like a serial killer is on the loose in Paradise. With nothing to connect the killings and few clues, Stone nevertheless starts piecing bits of the puzzle together. He knows who did it. They know he knows, and so the game begins, and the next victim hits close to home for Jesse Stone. Meanwhile, a high school girl is brutally assaulted, and she’s hesitant to name her attackers. With a gripping storyline based on the Robert B. Parker novel, and compelling performances by Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone and Viola Davis as Officer Molly Crane, fans were hooked and left wanting more.

Fun trivia:

From Paradise, MA to One Police Plaza, NYC. Fast forward five years, and Tom Selleck takes another enduring law enforcement role—Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner in the hit television series, Blue Bloods.
