LARAMIE

In yet another classic television series that shares its name with an iconic Old West town, Laramie spotlights orphaned brothers who try to keep the family spread going while also running a stagecoach stop amidst the unforgiving Wyoming Territory of the 1870s.

It’s a roller coaster ride of adventure that kicks off after Matt Sherman is murdered by a greedy land grabber. His orphaned sons, Slim and Andy, are forced to concoct a creative way to keep the family homestead from going under.

The boys first hire drifter Jess Harper to help. And then, along with the help of family friend Jonesy, they supplement their ranch income by working at a stagecoach stop near Laramie.

Every day poses old chores and new challenges. There are loads of stagecoach passengers coming through, unanticipated problems on the homestead, and plenty of painstaking work like wood to chop, chickens to feed, and fences to mend.

While Robert Harper gets top billing as drifter Jess Harper, there is a veritable who’s who of guest stars the avid TV fan will recognize, including Brian Keith, Gena Rowlands, Vera Miles, Eddie Albert, Cloris Leachman, Claude Akins, Julie London, Denver Pyle, Dan Duryea, Ellen Burstyn, Alan Hale Jr. and Nanette Fabray.

So saddle up and head back to Laramie where family and friends come first, danger is always in the air, and triumphs are hard-won.
