The Lone Star State is going to get a kick out of its newest citizen—Chuck Norris! On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, Norris walked into the Texas State Senate chambers a native Oklahoman, and walked out, an official Texan. Norris makes his home on a Texas ranch.
The 77-year-old star of Walker, Texas Ranger, and his wife Gena, appeared at chambers, where senators presented Norris with a gavel and the Honorary Texan title in recognition of his numerous philanthropic causes and his upstanding representation of the state of Texas. In 2010, Norris was named an Honorary Texas Ranger.
Now that Norris is an official Texan, how long before Texas officially becomes the Chuck Norris State?
And there was cake, too! (Even if it was for the governor’s birthday.)
