role.
Indian Land, SC - Marc Favaro, EVP of Worldwide Sales for The Inspiration Networks, today announced that Rick Wardell has joined The Inspiration Networks as VP, National Advertising Sales. In this capacity, Wardell will oversee national ad sales for INSP - The Inspiration Network and Halogen.
"We're excited to have Rick on our team," said Favaro. "He brings with him a tremendous amount of experience and solid relationships with a number of ad agencies and clients. He will be an asset as we continue to develop advertising relationships and campaigns for our networks."
Before joining The Inspiration Networks, Wardell served as Senior Director of Digital Entertainment Advertising Sales at Rovi. In this role, he managed the transition from an outsourced sales organization (TV Guide network sales) to an in-house team. His efforts resulted in year-to-date sales increases; the largest quarter in the history of the company's ad sales efforts; expansion of the core customer base; and the generation of new business from numerous mainstream advertisers.
Prior to his role at Rovi, Wardell served as Director of National Advertising Sales, Eastern Region for TiVo. Over a three year period Wardell generated more than $7 million in sales for TiVo from advertisers that included Visa, Audi, General Electric, Sprint, SONY Electronics, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Ameriprise, and more.
During his career, Wardell also has led the sales effort for beFree (now ValueClick) and held sales management positions at broadcast stations throughout the US including five years as VP, Sales Director at KCNC-TV (then NBC owned and operated) in Denver. With a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals, Wardell took advantage of industry migration to information technology solutions and became the in-house expert serving as chairman of the customer advisory committee for Enterprise Systems, NBC's primary business operations vendor.
Wardell holds a Bachelor's degree in English. Wardell and his family reside in Westport, Connecticut.
