Inspiration programming wins four awards during "An Audience of One"

Indian Land, SC, USA - Inspiration Network International (INI - Sky channel 567, Freesat channel 690 and Multichoice channel 350) received four programming awards from the Christian Broadcasting Council (CBC) as announced today by David Cerullo, Chief Executive Officer of The Inspiration Networks. Honours were presented at the media awards ceremony "An Audience of One" on Thursday, 25 February, 2010 in London.

Inspiration won awards in four categories: First Place GOLD in "Best Christian Broadcast Programme for Youth Audience". Second Place SILVER in "Best Broadcast Drama Series Based on Christian Theme" category. Second Place SILVER in the "Fred Ironsmith Award for Best Christian DVD/Film" category. And Highly Commended in "Best Albums/DVDs/Webcasts of Music" category.

"All of us at Inspiration are thrilled by this recognition," Cerullo said. "While the greatest reward we can receive is to see lives eternally impacted by our programming, these awards are very encouraging. Our goal is to create quality content with high production values. And we are thankful for the recognition and honour given us by the CBC. We particularly were blessed by the comments of the judges.

"It is gratifying that, once again this year, Steelroots, Inspiration's youth division, received recognition for our teen block of programming. Steelroots continues to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to confront young people in their culture using their language". Youth programming can be seen on Inspiration weekday afternoons and on Saturdays. Click here to view show times.

Cerullo continued, "The CBC is providing a crucial service to the international community. As media platforms and delivery methods increase, many Christian organizations are creating content that rivals and even surpasses secular productions. CBC's annual event is the only one of its kind that showcases stellar, faith-based efforts from around the world and recognises the players and platforms. We are pleased to partner with this organization."

AWARDS PRESENTED:

First Place GOLD in "Best Christian Broadcast Programme for Youth Audience" category
The Uprising - Season 2 Episode 4 "Honouring the Legendary Jeremy Lusk"
Producer: Eliot Rausch, Steelroots
Judges Comments: Inspiring and tear-jerking story of the life and death of the famous motocross star Jeremy Lusk. Simply compulsive viewing, this story is told in a way that keeps you hooked, interested and hanging on every word. It is exciting that a programme of this calibre and quality exists, telling real life stories in a culturally relevant and edgy way. If the other programmes in this series is of similar quality, then we can expect many many thousands of young people (and others!) meeting God in a real way. This story speaks powerfully of how a tragic death can result in such hope and inspiration. This programme smashes the mould.

Second Place SILVER in "Best Broadcast Drama Series Based on Christian Theme" category
Think it Thru
Producer/Director: Steven Hoyt, Show Host: Dr. Michael Brown
Judges Comments: A simple concept that works because the presenter is excellent, and the topics he explores highly relevant to his target audience. Effective television doesn't have to be costly.

Second Place SILVER in the "Fred Grossmith Award for Best Christian DVD/Film" category
Freetown: Hope Restored
Producers: Ben Cerullo & James Chapman, Ben Cerullo Ministries
Judges Comments: A beautifully crafted film - this is an impressive record of an amazing cross-cultural evangelistic event.

Highly Commended in "Best Albums/DVDs/Webcasts of Music" category
EMI/Forefront's newest up-and-coming pop-punk act, PHILMONT, won "Highly Commended" for their self-produced, innovative music videos and webisodes which aired on Steelroots' Countdown. Philmont's low-cost, high-energy video, "The Difference" dominated votes on Countdown several weeks running in 2009.
Judges Comments: The only entrant in this category was from a US-based band, who was awarded a "Highly Commended" by the judges for their innovative work with young people and the Podcasts following the band on the road. Gritty, interesting and eye-opening!
