INSPIRATION MINISTRIES RELOCATES CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS TO LANCASTER COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA
Operations for the ministry were previously located in eleven office buildings throughout the Charlotte, NC region.
Indian Land, SC (March 12, 2008) - Inspiration Ministries Chairman and CEO David Cerullo today announced that the ministry officially has relocated to the WorldReach Center headquarters on its City of Light campus in Lancaster County, SC, just 10 miles south of its former headquarters building in Charlotte, NC. The center is the first of several buildings to be completed as part of a multi-year, $150 million project. It replaces what had been several separate facilities in multiple locations scattered across south Charlotte. Cerullo said that the move marks a major milestone in the ministry's seventeen-year history.
"Since announcing plans to build the City of Light in January 2006, our vision always has been to use this campus to reach the nations of the world with the Gospel,? said Cerullo. "We have had tremendous cooperation from the county and state governments in South Carolina as well as regional governmental organizations. We are grateful for their help. The City of Light would not be possible without the blessings of God and the support of our partners across the world as well as business leaders and friends throughout the greater Charlotte community.?
Cerullo said that construction on the second building on the campus, the International Welcome & Prayer Center, is slated to be completed by the end of 2008. "This will conclude Phase 1 of the City of Light,? he said. "And for the first time in many years, the majority of our employees will be able to work in proximity to one another, dramatically increasing our efficiency and effectiveness.?
When completed, the City of Light will include the Global Media Production and Training Institute, designed to train and equip "media missionaries? from around the world in state-of-the-art methods and techniques for using media to communicate the gospel in their native lands. Facilities also are planned to accommodate the ministry's other outreaches, including a Tea House and Conference Center for its women's ministry, a Youth Evangelism Center, a Children's Evangelism Center, and a state-of-the-art entertainment pavilion for concerts and events. The campus is being developed using a multi-phase approach and is expected to require up to ten years to complete.
