Ministry provides free practice facilities for six local soccer teams at the City of Light.
Indian Land, SC - Inspiration Ministries today announced that an agreement has been reached with the Indian Land Soccer Club (ILSC) to allow its six teams to practice on the Ministries' City of Light campus.
"Inspiration Ministries filled a major need for the kids in our community," said Ryan Nelson, the Executive Director of Operations for ILSC. "As we approached the start of our fall season, and the status of the Edenmor Facility was still up in the air, there was simply not enough space for both ILSC and Lancaster County Parks and Recreation football and soccer programs to practice. We had tried many avenues to secure space and were delighted when Inspiration Ministries responded to an email request about providing the facilities ILSC needed." Nelson said that the agreement provided portable restrooms and the ability to set up goals and line fields. In addition to allowing ILSC to use the Facility, Inspiration Ministries sponsored the ILSC U11 team and continues to work with ILSC on improving the turf for soccer play. "This really is an ideal arrangement. It's good for our kids and their families. We often have many ILSC parents going for walks or runs within the beautiful facility. It is a safe location and it's right in the heart of Indian Land. We look forward to forming a long-term partnership between ILSC and Inspiration Ministries."
"We were delighted to be able to help our neighbors," said Lisa Mouradian, Inspiration Ministries' Events Manager for The City of Light. "This was a perfect partnership. It has been such a joy to see kids practicing at the City of Light."
Mouradian said that this is just the latest effort fulfilling the Ministry's commitment to the local community. "Since we opened our headquarters here in early 2008, we have been looking for ways to serve the community. We currently are working with local schools on ways to teach students the latest about television and other media. We have held free worship events in our Inspiration Chapel, which has been a real blessing to many in the community. And recently, we began opening our Chapel and other facilities to churches, individuals, and groups who want a location for seminars, weddings, and other events. Much more activity will be taking place in the coming months."
