Rocky IV The fourth installment of the Rocky sagas stars Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Carl Weathers and Dolph Lundgren. Apollo Creed agrees to have an exhibition match against the Soviet Union’s fighter, Ivan Drago. Although Apollo is past his prime, he’s still in great shape and he’s confident that he can do well with heavyweight champ Rocky and his trainer, Tony “Duke” Evans, in his corner. But from the moment Apollo steps into the ring, he takes a terrible beating from Drago. Rocky wants to call the fight in the first round, but Apollo goes back into the ring and tells Rocky not to call off the fight for any reason. But during the second round, Apollo is brutally beaten and dies. Rocky is devastated and guilt-stricken by Apollo’s death. He challenges Drago to a fight, but to do so, he must relinquish his heavyweight title. So, Rocky surrenders his championship and heads to Russia. With Evers as his trainer, Rocky trains with dedication and ferocity in the mountains of Siberia. He uses old-school methods while Drago uses state-of-the-art equipment and steroids. Both camps agree to an unsanctioned, 15 round fight on Christmas Day. Drago is the hands-on favorite to win this fight, but that’s never stopped Rocky before. He runs through snow drifts, scales the highest, iciest mountains he can find, and hoists logs over his head. He trains as if his life depends on it…because of course, it does! When Christmas Day finally arrives, Drago is in fighting form and has a cheering crowd behind him. But Rocky has no intention of letting anyone down: today, he fights for Apollo Creed and for the U.S.A. This is one fight that the underdog from Philly will see through to the end…even if it kills him! You may also like...
